The free (and benefit) summer concert series in Central Park's Rumsey Playfield, running May to October with jazz, hip-hop, Latin, indie, dance and global music.
What makes it special: One of the great NYC summer traditions, world-class artists in the middle of Central Park, and a huge share of the shows are completely free.
Insider notes
- Most shows are free and first-come, first-served, so line up early for a good spot.
- Some marquee nights are ticketed benefit shows; check which is which before you go.
- Enter at 69th St and Fifth Avenue for Rumsey Playfield; the 6 at 68th St is closest.
